There were plenty of websites talking about this new game and most Scandinavians had chosen a server called Stormscale-EU. Together with 10 IRL friends and a bunch of people I known from other games I started my adventures in World of Warcraft. I played a Hunter in vanilla US release but swapped to a mighty Tauren warrior at EU release. So basically everyone started from scratch, including me. And those who had all came from heavy focus PvP games with very little “hardcore” PvE. When Blizzard released World of Warcraft, most people who started playing the game never played an MMORPG before. Other than that, Alliance priests also had Fear Ward, helping tanks and healers not get feared on certain encounters where that could become a problem, for example Onxyia and Nefarian. Having all of these buffs available on your whole raid meant a MASSIVE raiding advantage for Alliance. The 4 most powerful ones were:īlessing of Kings - which gave you 10% increased stats (including Hit points on tanks) and stacked with everythingīlessing of Might which gave attack powerīlessing of Wisdomwhich gave mana regen for healersīlessing of Salvation which permanently reduced the threat you did by 30%, which was a huge boost to dps for some classes, as Threat was a real issue in Vanilla and tanks had to work very hard to hold it. However, the buffs were really powerful as you could get all of them on all raid members. Paladins had buffs, and the most annoying type too, 5 minute ones. The range of the totem was pretty short though, (20 yards as I recall) until later in future expansions where they increased it to 40 yards. Shamans had totems, the most powerful of which was Windfury, and it gave the melee users a 20% chance to gain an extra attack on any melee attack or ability they used, increasing their dps. The Alliance and Horde were different and there were massive balance issues with abilities and races, most of which worked out in favor of the Alliance. There was nothing called 10 or 25 man raid types, it was all 40 man or whatever you could bring. Throughout out my “career” I've played Hunter, DPS/Tank Warrior, Holy Paladin, and Warlock (which is my current main)īack in Vanilla things were a lot different compared to what Blizzard provide you in the current expansion. Throughout these past 8½ years I have been raiding all dungeons and raids that Blizzard provided, and now I hope to be able to give you some detailed insight into “hardcore” raiding Vanilla style. Or even simpler still, just make it identical to regular inspiration, i.e. A creature can only have on Faerie Favor die at a time. If the Faerie Favor die is not used before the next sunrise, it is lost. Once the Faerie Favor die is used, it is lost. The favored creature can wait until after the die roll before deciding to use the Faerie Favor die, but must decide before the DM announces whether the roll succeeds or fails. The blessed creature gains a d6 Faerie Favor die that can be used to modify one of the following rolls: an ability check, an attack roll, a saving throw, or a hit die used to regain hit points during a rest.

The shargugh can grant its blessing to a creature within 30 feet that it can see. While reading I was wondering what the die size was, and since it's repeating the effects of bardic inspiration I don't think it needs to also namecheck bardic inspiration. The ability text could still be condensed, I think.
